If you are passionate about helping the environment! TRCA brings an amazing opportunity for you.

The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is one of Ontario's leading environmental organizations. It works to protect and restore rivers, forests, and natural spaces across the Greater Toronto Area. Students can gain hands-on experience with conserving nature and also connect with professionals in the environmental conservation field. They are looking for volunteers to join their Citizen Science Volunteer Program. It is a great opportunity for students, newcomers, and anyone interested in protecting the environment.

As a volunteer, you will help with community planting events across the Greater Toronto Area. Your tasks may include setting up for events, helping participants plant trees and shrubs, watering plants, adding mulch, and making sure trees and flowers are planted properly. The volunteer program runs from April to June and again from September to November. Volunteer opportunities are available in Brampton, Caledon, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, and some locations in Toronto. Their volunteer hours are very flexible.

The program's requirements are flexible as well - you must be 14 years of age or older, enjoy working outdoors, and have an interest in environmental conservation. No previous experience is required, and training will be provided during the first weeks of the volunteer program. If you have experience with fieldwork or plant identification, make sure you mention it in your application.

This coming fall will be a great chance to learn and give back to our nature. The TRCA Citizen Science Volunteer Program is a great place to start.
