The Toronto Public Library’s Adult Literacy Volunteer Program is looking for dedicated volunteers to support adult learners as they build confidence in their reading, writing, and math skills.

As a volunteer, you’ll receive training and resources from library staff and be matched with a learner based on their individual goals and needs.

Volunteers must be 19 or older, fluent in English, and able to commit to at least six months, meeting their learner for two hours once a week at a participating branch. The current waitlist for volunteers is about six months. To apply, email the volunteer application form to adultliteracy@tpl.ca or drop it off at a participating branch: https://tpl.ca/support-us/volunteering/adult-literacy/
