If you are a high-achieving student who demonstrates leadership, creativity, and academic excellence, then the Queen’s University Chancellor’s Scholarship may be the perfect opportunity for you. This prestigious award was established to celebrate the university’s 150th anniversary, recognizing students who have made outstanding contributions both inside and outside of school.

The Chancellor’s Scholarship has a total value of $48,000 and is awarded to 50 first-year undergraduate students entering Queen’s University each year, making it one of the university’s most competitive awards. Not only does this scholarship reward those with academic achievements and high averages, but it also recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities, creative thinking, and strong problem-solving skills. While it provides significant financial support, it also acknowledges the dedication, hard work, and commitments students have shown when making a positive impact on their schools and communities.

In order to be eligible, applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or Protected Persons entering their first year of an undergraduate program at Queen's University, and must be nominated by their high school. Competitive applicants have an average of 90% or higher. After applying for admission to Queen’s University, students complete the Major Admission Awards application on SOLUS by the deadline (December 8, 2026 for 2027 entry); their high school is then asked to submit the nomination. Students must also demonstrate superior academic performance, leadership qualities, creativity, and involvement in extracurricular or community activities to be considered for the scholarship.

If you are a motivated student who strives for academic excellence while making a difference in your community, then consider applying for the Chancellor’s Scholarship at Queen’s University and take the next step towards achieving your academic and career goals.
